1️⃣ Gouda – the most authentic cheese market
📅 Dates 2025: Every Thursday morning from April 4 to August 29
🕒 Time: 10:00–12:30
📍 Location: Markt square (the central square of Gouda)

Why is it worth going?
✅ The oldest market – traditions since the 15th century!
✅ Theatrical trading – porters in white suits, weighing on scales.
✅ Tasting of 10+ types of cheese – from young Gouda to aged “Oude Kaas”.

2️⃣ Edam – cheese classics in a charming town
📅 Dates 2025: Every Wednesday from July 2 to August 20
🕒 Time: 10:30–12:30
📍 Location: Jan van Nieuwenhuizenplein

What is unique about Edam?
🧀 The famous “red” cheeses are in wax, which preserves the taste longer.
🚣 Canals and old houses – a town like from a postcard!
🏆 Fewer tourists than in Alkmaar – more intimate atmosphere.

🔶 Other cheese markets (no tours, but you can visit them on your own)
– Alkmaar (Fridays, April 5 – September 27) – the most popular, but overcrowded with tourists.
– Hoorn (Thursdays, June 13 – August 15) – little-known, but authentic.
– Woerden (Saturdays, July 6 – August 31) – morning hours only.
