Рейксмузеум АмстердамI invite you to an excursion to the largest museum in the country, known as the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam State Museum. This is not just a collection of exhibits, but a whole five-hundred-year-long chronicle of the kingdom!

What you will see:

chronicles of the Netherlands from the 14th century to the present day;
classic Dutch painting, including “Night Watch” by Rembrandt;
setting and inhabitants of dollhouses and miniatures of old ships;
a whole arsenal of weapons that brought victory to the Dutch of the Golden Age;
musical instruments, jewelry, clothes, interior items and white and blue Delft faience in all its diversity and much more.

What you will learn:

who designed the Rijksmuseum and what is unusual about this building;
why did they build a separate hall for the picture “Night Watch”;
that connects the building of the Rijksmuseum with the central station in Amsterdam and De Haar Castle near Utrecht and many other things.

What you will do:

you will see famous works of art and simply interesting exhibits;
you will completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere of everyday life of the 15th-12th centuries;
look inside those same houses on the canal;
declassify all the secrets that the great inhabitants of the kingdom hid;
buy souvenirs in the shop at the museum.
Artistic treasures of the nation

During our excursion to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, you will have an excellent opportunity to learn the history of the museum, the building of which is a masterpiece in itself, created by the famous architect Peter Kuipers. Its historical appearance has been preserved, but this structure was brought into line with modern requirements for such places (a characteristic solution for the Dutch!).

Inside you will see the pride of the nation – a huge painting by Rembrandt “The Night Watch”, as well as other classic paintings by famous Dutch artists. We are waiting for the works of Jan Vermeer, Jan Sten, Frans Hals, Vincent van Gogh, as well as such masters as Pieter de Hoch, Jacob van Ruysdal, Bartholomeus van der Helst, Jan van Scorel and others. Immerse yourself in the life of the Dutch people of the 17th century, see their faces in paintings and unravel hidden symbols – all this allows a tour to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.

A separate hall is dedicated to the “father of the nation” William of Orange: here is presented his canonical portrait painted by Adrian Thomas Key.

In addition to examples of “high” art, the museum also exhibits works representing other areas of painting and engraving, for example, a collection of French courtly art.

Dollhouses, miniature ships and other collections

Dollhouses are one of the most popular sections of the exhibition. After all, such a miracle is rarely seen anywhere. These mansions in miniature are the whim of the rich of the past centuries. They are furnished with detailed accuracy, like real apartments – furniture, paintings and other interior items in them are completely real, only small. One of the walls of each room is replaced by glass, so that all this can be seen clearly. Such toys were very expensive: some dollhouses were as expensive as the real ones! The collection of models of ships, executed with no less skill, continues the theme of skillful miniatures.

Do you want to see a collection of old weapons – various pistols and muskets? You will see all this during a tour of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam! Also, luxurious antique furniture and unusual interior items of past centuries are kept here. The collection of porcelain, so beloved by the Dutch, should be highlighted. Here are magnificent examples of oriental vases, and the famous white-blue Delft faience.

And we will definitely not miss the chic library of 19th century books.

A professional art guide will turn a visit to this place into an exciting adventure. The most attention will be paid to the brightest period of the Kingdom of the Netherlands – the 17th century.

It is also possible to make an individual program as part of a VIP excursion to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.

❗ All tours and excursions to the Rijksmuseum are individual, so only you and your loved ones are guaranteed to be there.

I will definitely take into account all your wishes regarding a visit to the museum and will focus on topics that are interesting to you.

I recommend combining an excursion to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Netherlands with a walking tour of Amsterdam or a cruise tour of the canals of Amsterdam.
